I should make the point that you could put several UNLOCK commands into an OK block:

OK BEGIN
UNLOCK listname
UNLOCK listname2
UNLOCK listname3
OK END

and only have to send a single "OK" (or click the link LISTSERV sends you) to execute all the commands inside the block. I think that is what you are looking for. It would have to be sent via email though, and you'd either have to be a POSTMASTER or the owner of all the lists you're trying to unlock for it to work.

Send

UNLOCK listname password

to LISTSERV. Has to come from an email listed as a POSTMASTER, or from the email address of one of the list owners of the affected list.

Unfortunately you have to do these one at a time, there's no wildcard allowed.

It is locked list, not held...

Locked, or held?

The only way a list can become "locked" is if you GET it (typically via email) without specifying the (NOLOCK switch.

Contrariwise, lists can become "held" for a number of reasons. You'd have to look in the LISTSERV log for more specifics.

Subject: Deal with locked lists in batch

Recently we have experienced an issue that some of our lists got locked without user interaction. Any idea what is the possible reason(s) the list can be locked?

Are there any better ways to find out all the locked lists in the system? And unlock them in a batch mode rather than individually through the management interface?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
