It's only one list. The others are working correctly. I've compared their configuration, both in the header and in the directory, to this one and they appear to match. I have saved the header--oh, have I ever saved the header!

Is it only one list or all lists on the server? Or is this the first list where you've tried to put archives up?

If all archives not working:

In go.user is WWW_ARCHIVE_DIR set correctly?

In /etc do you have a file lsv-wa.config with your path and url?

If just one list:

Did you go in the web interface and save the list header after creating the directory (even if you have no changes to make, save it again anyway, just to poke Listserv).

And what is that obscure and non-intuitive setting?

In answer to the other good points, the directory is in the right place
with the right permissions. It contains files, including indices and an
archive. The listserv server has been restarted since the archive was
created.

I found the answer to this in the online support archive.  Seems like an
obscure and non intuitive setting. Then it would not show the archives
messages until I sent one more after changing that obscure setting. Them
they all sites up. Been too long to remember exactly Weber that setting was
but i think it has to do setting with the frequency of archiving.

Hi, folks,

     I've got what looks to me like a correctly configured listserv
archive which is giving owners and subscribers alike (to say nothing of
admins) this message:

"Archived posts are currently not available. Either the archives do not
exist or you are not authorized to browse them with the email address you
used to log in."

     I'm on Linux. The directory is permissioned 755, which it should be.
Here's most of the header:

Notebook= Yes,/var/www/html/archives/<listname>
Notebook= Monthly,Private
Subscription= Closed
Confidential= Service
Validate= No
Reply-to= Sender,Respect
Review= Private
Send= Public
Errors-To= Owner
Ack= No
Digest= Yes,Same,Daily

     The only thing I can think of is that when the list was first
created, the line "Notebook= Monthly,Private" was not there. Possibly it'll
just need to age a bit? I don't know.

     Can you help?

Thanks,

     John A
