Now, I am the admin of 'mta.domain.edu' so I'm trying to see what's
generating the 5.0.0 on that side...   Note that I never intended to wear a
sendmail hat... :)

Looking at the other end, I'm seeing the following:

Too many recipients

But this is generating dsn=4.5.3, stat=Deferred

After several of these, I then get

Possible SMTP RCPT flood, throttling.

Could this be causing it?
