Dear LSTOWN-L readers,
Thanks to those who've contributed to the discussion so far. Meanwhile, a subscriber with a Yahoo account has successfully posted to a list I moderate hosted here at Mason, and her email address was changed to what John French and Ben
Parker have called a token. Ben said that "... if you reply to that address it will be forwarded by LISTSERV to the person's real address." I had already done so, before Ben wrote, to test whether that address worked, and I got this response:
The following message to <[log in to unmask]> was undeliverable.
(In case of concerns, I edited the token slightly for the purposes of this message.)
Also , I'm not sure what the "friendly name" is. Is it the text that people use in conjunction with their email address when subscribing? Some subscribers put "anonymous" instead of a name, and I don't consider that friendly! When they
do, I set their subscriptions to conceal, which is what I think they intended, and to nopost. To my knowledge, no such subscribers have yet tried to post.
Sincerely - Ian
