Thanks to Steve Eckard for his post. I added “Send= Private,Confirm “ to the header, and removed all lines begining “Editor=”
then sent another test message. But it still generated a message for a list owner (moderator?) to approve.
Any other suggestions, please? - Ian

Subject: new subscribers not to have to undergo approval from a list owner
Dear LSTOWN-L readers,
A list has all messages from first-time posters go to all list owners (who are also all editors and moderators) for review and approval. I'd like to change the list header so that this no longer happens, and that new subscribers, although
they confirm their own posts, don’t have their message sent to a listowner for approval.
What do I do to the list header to achieve this?
We're on Listserv 16.0 and I've looked over the manual
http://www.lsoft.com/manuals/16.0/LISTSERV16.0_ListOwnersManual.pdf
but without success. I’ve also tried several adjustments to the header and sent test messages.
Thanks for any advice. Sincerely – Ian P.S. After a list owner determines that the person posting is not a spammer or robot, the subscription is adjusted so they no longer have to be reviewed.
