Note that using the init.d method requires that you have installed an init file for LISTSERV
😊 It isn’t installed by default, although we provide a sample that gets written into the ~listserv/ directory when
you use the binary installer.
You can also send LISTSERV the emailed command
STOP REIPL
or
STOP REBOOT
(REIPL and REBOOT are synonymous) from a LISTSERV POSTMASTER= address, properly authenticated of course, to tell LISTSERV to restart. This works across all platforms. Alternately,
you can issue the command from the web interface when you are logged in as a POSTMASTER= user by using the Server Administration / LISTSERV Command menu item.
