All,
A few months ago we upgraded to the latest version of Listserv. Shortly after that, list users started to point out that the
archive searches are no longer working. This may not be related to the upgrade, but the timing is uncanny.
The problem is that most archive searches now return this message:
Your search produced no results. Check your search string and the lists that you selected and try again.
We know that the search terms appear in the archive many times. It appears that if a word appears too many times in a list, it isn’t indexed, and that this threshold
is suddenly lower than it used to be. We never used to have this problem.
Has anyone else seen this? If so, how are you compensating for it?
L-Soft has suggested that we upgrade to their HPO license or break our archives down into smaller segments. The HPO license is too pricey for us, and segmenting
our archives will be difficult for us to do and for users to search.
Does anyone have any better suggestions?
Thanx,
Reed
