Listserv Gurus and Mentors,
Beginning a few weeks ago, nearly all of our Listserv daily error monitoring reports show the Last error as "5.1.0 Probe failed", as shown in the example below. This is strange for several reasons:
·
We don’t do probing.
·
The number of failures increased rapidly a couple of weeks ago.
·
We used to see other types of errors, but now we only see Probe failed errors.
It’s as though the legitimate reasons for the errors are all being changed to Probe failed instead of what they should be.
Here is an example of a recent report with names and email addresses redacted to protect the innocent:
The following 7 subscribers were deleted from the SYSTEM-ADMIN list

Err= Number of delivery errors received thus far
First= Date first delivery error was received (mm/dd) Last= Date of most current delivery error (mm/dd)
Subscribers will be automatically deleted from the list when delivery errors have been reported for a period of 10 days or more, or when more than 100 delivery errors have been received, whichever occurs
first.
Monitoring will cease after 11 days without any reported errors.
Note: Manually deleted subscribers may remain on the monitoring report under an alias address. Such entries will expire eventually. You do not need to do anything about them.
Any thoughts on a cause or cure for this?
Thanx,
Reed
