Some days it jsut doesn't pay to be the 'Postmaster' :-( Besides the UUCP junk I've been getting (it's up to 12 now)... The VMS Systems guy decided to upgrade the Wollongong TCP/IP software without the necessary 'System Update Notice'. This new version replaced the SMTP.EXE file needed for PMDF to work instead of the Wollongong MAILER. Believe me, you don't want that MAILER handling things for very long. And now, in the last two hours, I've gotten 8 of these: ----------- Jim Gerland SUNY/Buffalo Postmaster University Computing Services [log in to unmask] State University of New York at Buffalo [log in to unmask] Buffalo, NY 14260 (716) 636-3557 ----------------------------Original message---------------------------- ----- Transcript of session follows ----- mail: /usr/spool/mail/admin: cannot append Mail saved in dead.letter 554 <[log in to unmask]>... unknown mailer error 1 dbm: no open database ----- Unsent message follows ----- Return-Path: <[log in to unmask]> Received: by northstar11.dartmouth.edu (5.51/3.0LEAF) id AA08904; Wed, 17 Feb 88 12:17:41 EST Message-Id: <[log in to unmask]> Received: from UBVM.CC.BUFFALO.EDU by DARTCMS1.DARTMOUTH.EDU (Mailer X1.25) with BSMTP id 4058; Wed, 17 Feb 88 11:17:20 EST Received: by UBVM (Mailer X1.25) id 7666; Tue, 16 Feb 88 02:39:28 EST Date: Mon, 15 Feb 88 02:59:04 GMT Reply-To: [log in to unmask] Sender: INFO-IBMPC Digest <IBMPC-L@UBVM> From: Gregory Hicks COMFLEACTS <[log in to unmask]> Subject: Info-IBMPC Digest V7 #13 To: Mark Franklin <[log in to unmask]> ...deleted lines... ************************ End of Info-IBMPC Digest -------
