Frode and myself signed, this morning, a slightly amended version of the LISTSERV contract I had originally proposed. This is not an official announcement, and there are still a number of things to be done before Turgut can actually start to provide maintenance: at present, EARN sites are running the code under a license they have obtained from me, with the LMC authority being set to myself. In order for EARN to be able to provide support to them, and to distribute the code to EARN sites which do not presently run it, a new version of the license agreement must be prepared by the Exec (to indicate that the software is now licensed by EARN with my permission rather than by myself, to define the conditions under which EARN will provide LISTSERV support, etc). All the EARN LISTSERV sites must then be asked whether or not they accept the new license agreement, agree to change the LMC authorization to point to Turgut rather than me, etc. I will leave EARN to explain the details in due time - I just wanted to inform you that the contract has been signed.
