I came across a small problem with a reply from VMS to a list. The first time I received an error message I pressed my delete key and lost it, so I contacted the user and ask her what she did and then I did the same thing under test control. In the VMS system, from the mailer, she read the file and then did REPLY. In the mail editor, she only typed in her reply. She did not delete any of the header information. In her editor the complet file is shown so that changes can be done to it. I have provided a small routine to place a > in front of each line. Has anyone else had the same problem and what did you do to correct it? Is there something else that can or will be coming out to handle something like this? I have not taken the time as of now to go over the code, I plan to do that next. I was just hoping someone else already has. We are running the 1.6c listserv. In VMS, the user can define the editor s/he wants to use. ******************* ERROR MESSAGE FOLLOWS ************************** Received: by TECHNION (Mailer R2.03B) id 0837; Thu, 02 Nov 89 15:24:44 IST Date: Thu, 2 Nov 89 15:24:43 IST From: Revised List Processor (1.6c) <LISTSERV@TECHNION> Subject: Delivery error notice sent to list AUTO-L To: [log in to unmask] The enclosed mail file, found in the AUTO-L reader and shown under the spoolid 0819 in the console log, has been identified as a possible delivery error notice for the following reason: "Sender:", "From:" or "Reply-To:" field pointing to the list has been found in mail body. ------------------------- Message in error (27 lines) ------------------------- X-Delivery-Notice: SMTP MAIL FROM does not correspond to sender.
