I have a problem in need of a solution: There is a LISTSERV discussion list with two peers: CHILE-L@PURCCVM and [log in to unmask] Attached to node UCHCECVM are the locally-known hosts UCHCEC3 and UCHCEC4. Users from these two local nodes are subscribed to CHILE-L@UCHCECVM; none are subscribed to [log in to unmask] However, LISTSERV@PURCCVM tries to send acks/stats to users at UCHCEC3/4 which, of course, are bounced since UCHCEC3/4 are unknown to the world. I have tried to adjust every list keyword parm that I can and have set ACK=NO for userid CHILE-L@UCHCECVM in the PURCCVM list, but this junk is still being sent and bounced. What must I do to prevent acks/stats from being sent to users on these nodes? NONOTIFY is not the answer because (1) *@UCHCEC3 (all users at site UCHCEC3) is not accepted by the NOTIFY processor; and (2) if I would list each user@site individually, the problem would re-occur each time a new subscriber came on board. The last resort is, of course, to kill the peer at PURCCVM; but I would hope for a better solution. Following are (1) list header from PURCCVM, (2) list header from UCHCECVM, and (3) sample bounced mail. -------------------- (1) List header from PURCCVM -------------------- * Ack= No * Errors-To= OWNER * Files= Yes * Notebook= Yes,C,Monthly * Notify= Yes * Owner= MLADINIC@PURCCVM (Antonio Mladinic) * Peers= CHILE-L@UCHCECVM * Reply-To= List,Respect * Review= Private * Send= Public * Subscription= Open * Validate= All commands * -------------------- (2) List header from UCHCECVM -------------------- * Ack= Yes * Confidential= No * Errors-To= Owner * Files= yes * Notebook= Yes,N,Monthly,Public * Notify= Yes * Owner= EOLIVAR@UCHCECVM ( Enrique Olivares Canouet ) * Peers= CHILE-L@PURCCVM * Reply-To= List,Respect * Review= Public * Send= Public * Stats= Extended,Private * Subscription= Open * Validate= All commands * X-Tags= Yes -------------------- (3) Sample bounced mail -------------------- Received: by PURCCVM (Mailer R2.05) id 3629; Fri, 23 Feb 90 20:01:55 EST Date: Fri, 23 Feb 90 20:01:35 EST From: Revised List Processor (1.6d) <LISTSERV@PURCCVM> Subject: Ack: Defi'nase !!
