REPLY/EXTRACT puts you into the editor anyway so they (your users) should know how to remove the unneeded 822 headers. Since VMS mail only has a few header fields that correspond to 822 headers, the 'real' 822 headers are just part of the message body as far as it (vms mail) is concerned. BTW - I'm using reply/extract to do this, and stick the little >s in front of your stuff etc (including removing the 822 headers :-) ). Mark
