To whom it may concern, postmaster at rutvm1 I assume. According to Chris Condon at Yale in Netmonth, you are sometimes hospitable enough to allow listserv@rutvm1 to accept guests who wish to establish new mailing lists. I have had some difficulty getting a response from cunyvms1 on this and UMNEWS@MAINE seems to be defunct. What I am interested in establishing will be called Southern Africa News and will consist of material already being published on econet/peacenet originating from a group called WESTPAC (largely based on ANC News Briefings) as well as other material that I obtain which I shall duly pass on to a friend who is the person who is publishing the material on econet/peacenet in the first place. My sense of this is that there should be a source of information beyond the paid for (ironically) network for non-profits which econet/peace net is. I have just received my third mailing from the fore-mentioned friend so I begin to feel some pressure to publish myself. Any further information which I can provide will certainly be forthcoming and any further help will be appreciated. I am about to receive a VM account at CUNY, at which point, having direct access to INTERNET, I should be able to place the material on NetNews (?...is this what usenet is called now? I have been told that ). Thank you for your consideration. Ted Yanow, 212-666-8418, [log in to unmask], [log in to unmask]
