If the rejection mail is for a Internet site, do you try PINGing > >the host site? I put up with it for awhile. Monitor it for awhile. If it is one person at a site (NOSUCHUSER), I waste them. If it is several people at a site (NOSUCHUSER), I try to contact someone at the site (by looking in BITEARN with ldbase, or whois at nic.ddn.mil. If that fails I waste them. If it is No such node, I try harder to contact someone at the site. If that fails I waste them. I don't do a quiet delete, but it doesn't matter, the mail generated by delete gets bounced anyway. In general, I put up with it as long as it doesn't bother me, doesn't last too long. Lots of times it "self-corrects." I am quicker to get rid of users from a list at the end of the fall, spring and summer. Ken Schriner BITNET ks06054@uafsysb University of Arkansas Internet [log in to unmask]
