Greetings,

I hear, from various sources, that there is a
Listserv for Unix. I'm skeptical, but willing to be led to
believe....

A Unix Listserv would have, I suppose, these
features of VM/CMS Listserv (and probably more):

        1. Instances of the Unix Listserv and instances of
the VM Listserv would form a single collection, each element
aware of the location of each other.

        2. DIST2 and RFD functions would be available
(however they work in a mixed Internet-Bitnet world).

        3. GET and PUT commands conveyed to an instance of a
Unix Listserv would be handled as we are used to.

        4. SUBSCRIBE, SIGNOFF, ADD, DELETE, would work as in
VM.

        5. A Unix Listserv could be managed "at a distance",
by sending commands and files (presumably by MAIL, for the
Unix version), just as the VM version can.

Does such a thing really exist?

Cheers, N.
