I apologize for asking a question that I could probably find the answer to by going through listserv docs or by trial-and-error -- which I would enjoy doing if I had time to stay at my computer all day instead of teaching English classes. Recently one of the WORDS-L subscribers whose system was cutting out the "from" line in her list mail discovered that she could solve that problem by sending this listserv command: 'set words-l iefhdr'. Shortly thereafter her copies of list mail that she had sent started bouncing to me. They were being distributed to the rest of the list, just not to her. Other list mail was getting to her fine. (Repro is the default on the list since all the subscribers want copies of their postings.) We think there may be a connection between the change in the header setting and the bouncing mail, although that strikes me as strange. This is a long way of leading to a short question: What is the IEFHDR setting? I know about FULLHDR, required by the usenet gateway address for example, but I had never heard of IEFHDR. Thanks for any tips. Here's a copy of one of the bounce messages for her address: > Date: Thu, 10 Sep 1992 04:15:50 -0400 > From: Revised List Processor (1.7c) <[log in to unmask]> > Subject: Delivery error notice sent to list WORDS-L > To: [log in to unmask], Jeff Kell <[log in to unmask]> > X-Lsv-Listid: None > >The enclosed mail file, found in the WORDS-L reader and shown under the spoolid >4615 in the console log, has been identified as a possible delivery error >notice for the following reason: mail origin seems to be a mailer or >mail-daemon. > > ------------------------- Message in error (69 lines) ------------------------- > Date: Thu, 10 Sep 92 8:08:33 GMT > From: [log in to unmask] > Sender: [log in to unmask] > Subject: MCI Mail rejected a message > To: [log in to unmask] > x-orig-sender:[log in to unmask] > > The following mail message could not be forwarded > to MCI Mail for the following Recipients: > > To: WERTSJ <[log in to unmask]> > > MCI Mail stated the message could not be sent because: > > At least one problem with envelope > 651 FROM EMS information does not identify current relay account > FROM: WERTSJ > EMS: DIALOG > MBX: WERTSJ > > 650 Message must contain FROM: specification > > Your message follows: > > Received: from uga.cc.uga.edu by MCIGATEWAY.MCIMail.com id aa07681; > 10 Sep 92 8:07 GMT > Received: from UGA.CC.UGA.EDU by uga.cc.uga.edu (IBM VM SMTP V2R2) > with BSMTP id 9236; Thu, 10 Sep 92 04:09:30 EDT > Received: from UGA.BITNET by UGA.CC.UGA.EDU (Mailer R2.08 PTF008) with BSMTP id > 1306; Thu, 10 Sep 92 04:09:19 EDT > Received: from UGA.BITNET by UGA.CC.UGA.EDU (LISTSERV release 1.7c) with NJE id > 4511 for [log in to unmask]; Thu, 10 Sep 1992 04:09:13 -0400 > Received: from UGA by UGA.CC.UGA.EDU (Mailer R2.08 PTF008) with BSMTP id 1271; > Thu, 10 Sep 92 04:07:46 EDT > Received: from MCIGATEWAY.MCIMail.com by uga.cc.uga.edu (IBM VM SMTP V2R2) with > TCP; Thu, 10 Sep 92 04:07:45 EDT > Received: from mcimail.com by MCIGATEWAY.MCIMail.com id ah07544; 10 Sep 92 8:01 > GMT > Date: Thu, 10 Sep 92 07:55 GMT > From: WERTSJ <[log in to unmask]> > To: mbx <[log in to unmask]> > Subject: hated terms > Message-Id: <[log in to unmask]> > Sender: [log in to unmask]
