At the University of Illinois at Chicago, we are establishing a number of moderated history-related Listserv groups in which the editors are scattered throughout the U.S., and working on a variety of platforms. Only the editors using VM/CMS and Rice Mail have been successful at distributing messages with the "From" field showing the message contributor's name. From the other systems, the moderator's name is shown in the "To" and "From" fields, and the editors have had to manually enter the contributor's name and e-mail address into the body of the message. Is anyone aware of any solutions to this problem? Also, what problems are likely to pop up from continuing the compromise of adding the contributors' names and addresses manually -- e.g. making the Digest less usable, searching logs, etc. Wendy Plotkin University of Illinois at Chicago *********************************************************************** Wendy Plotkin Contact Info: Associate Director of H-Net Dept.
