In version 1.8a LISTSERV will replace the first character of a line of 72
or  more equal  signs  with a  blank  in the  archive  files *only*.  The
messages sent to list recipients, either directly or via digests, will be
unaltered. Since  index recipients  order from  the archives,  their copy
will have the escaped  equal sign. It may be a bit  annoying but that was
the only  solution that could be  implemented in the short  term. Again I
can't use  the same  techniques as Ricemail  since many  owners routinely
edit their  archive files and I  can't expect them to  update line counts
when they change the messages :-)
