No good solution I know of, except as Eric might say:  Tell the postmasters
to fix their broken mailers!  :)
 
Seriously, short of having a separate account to handle errors, I don't
see any efficient way of dealing with them.  The problem with an error
is that it's rarely predictable and usually crops up at the worst possible
moment...
