Dwight's correct, but there is more to it: not all Bitnet nodes, that have Internet-equivalent FQDNs, have bothered to register that fact in the BITEARN NODES db (that's the one that is effectively searched by the LISTSERV cmd). Other techniques exist such as interrogating the rs.internic.net (via Telnet or mail), using the WHOIS program. Also, observance of any e-mail headers generated from that site will sometimes reveal an FQDN (though it might be erroneous e.g., PCCVM's RECEIVED: line headers are FUBAR). -- co-owner INFOSYS, TQM-L, CPARK-L, ERAPPA-L, JANITORS, LDBASE-L, et -L [log in to unmask] "Are you downsizing or dumbsizing?" +1 814 863 1843 31 Shields Bldg. -- Penn State Univ -- University Park, PA 16802-1202 USA
