LIST GLOBAL /ING produced the following, which I have cut WAY back since the output was 700 lines long: Excerpt from the LISTSERV lists known to LISTSERV@INDYCMS on 10 Aug 1994 09:10 Search string: ING Network-wide ID Full address List title --------------- ------------ ---------- AACUNY-L AACUNY-L@CUNYVM AACUNY-L: Asian Americans Culture mailing li+ ABSTRACT [log in to unmask] ACADDR-L ACADDR-L@MCGILL1 Academic Computing Centre Directors Forum ACADV ACADV@NDSUVM1 ACADV Academic Advising Forum ACES-L ACES-L@UNBVM1 Atlantic Congress of Engineering Students (F+ ...etc, etc,.... WYLBUR-L WYLBUR-L@CUNYVM WYLBUR System Maintainers Mailing List X500-WG X500-WG@ICNUCEVM Italian X500 Mailing List YACHT-L YACHT-L@HEARN The Sailing and amateur BoatBuilding List YESCAMP YESCAMP@UNBVM1 Youth Engineering and Science Camps of Canada YP_TECH YP_TECH@YALEVM Technical Issues Relating to the Yale People+ ZAPP ZAPP@UCSFVM Zapp! The Lightning of Empowerment 4AD-L 4AD-L@JHUVM 4ad recording artists list The problem is that LIST GLOBAL /searchcriteria searches the entire file called LISTSERV LISTS for <any> occurance of the search criteria--listnames <and> descriptions. So it just isn't going to do what you want it to do. My suggestion is simply to LIST GLOBAL and GREP the list for what you want--RUNNing, SWIMMing, BOATing, etc. BITNET: NBRINDLE@INDYCMS -------------------- Internet: [log in to unmask] Nathan C.
