To: [log in to unmask] This past week I've received about a dozen subscription approval requests from the listserv that use the same email address for each user. These are all different users and at different companies. Somewhere there's a glitch in the system and I don't know what it is. Somehow legitimate email addresses are being read as user address 'would.' Here are the two messages I keep seeing: ----------------> snip <------------------- From [log in to unmask] Fri Aug 26 15:52:21 1994 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Subscription approval request X-Listserver-Version: 6.0 -- UNIX ListServer by Anastasios Kotsikonas Status: RO X-Status: User would has requested subscription to list HTMARCOM If you approve, send the following request to [log in to unmask]: system HTMARCOM <password> would #SUBSCRIBE HTMARCOM JANE BARKER where 'password' is the list's password, as given to you by the manager of this system. ----------------> snip <------------------- From server Sat Aug 27 11:18:22 1994 Return-Path: <server> Received: by cns.cscns.com (4.1/SMI-5.1) id AA21509; Sat, 27 Aug 94 11:18:22 MDT Date: Sat, 27 Aug 94 11:18:22 MDT From: server (The Maillist Server) Message-Id: <[log in to unmask]> To: [log in to unmask] Subject: HTMARCOM: Warning during message delivery: Status: O X-Status: _sysmail(): Address: RCPT To: <would> not recognized. 550 <would>...
