INFO-MAC is a special case: the digests for this list are not prepared by LISTSERV, instead each individual message posted by the moderator is a digest. I also assume that the archives are set up so that each message (digest) is archived in a separate file. The result is that each individual retrievable file happens to be a digest that could be processed by the mail system if delivered "as is" to the mailer. Normally, there are several messages in each weekly/monthly/yearly archive file, and with the GET command you can only order the whole archive file (the database functions let you extract specific messages). A typical archive file cannot be processed directly by the mail system, because it does not start with a mail header and is not in digest format. In general, LISTSERV files are not resendable mail files, and this is why LISTSERV generates its own headers. Eric
