I'm a member of a nonprofit group of regional ornithologists. Several years ago one of our members set up a MLM through his employer. The mailing list quickly became one of the most valuable tools for birdwatchers in our area---bridging the gap between the academic and amateur birdwatcher, allowing rapid reporting of rare birds, etc. In its short life it contributed significantly to the annals of Minnesota birding. For various reasons, we decided the service should be informal, rather than an officially-sponsored and moderated offshoot of a birding organization. Unfortunately, the person who set up the MLM has recently left his company, and the MLM is now defunct. We are looking for a kindred soul who could---if only temporarily---set up an MLM that would support the dialog between our 85+ participants. Current traffic is only about 2-7 messages daily. Spring and fall migration often result in daily mail of 20-30 messages. I don't know how many of our members would shower you with gifts in appreciation. But any help you can provide would make a significant contribution to the study of regional wildlife, and would not go unthanked! __________________________________________________ Steve Deger Phone: 612/454-7250 Marketing Associate Fax: 612/454-0766 APS Press Internet: [log in to unmask] 3340 Pilot Knob Road St. Paul, MN 55121-2097 USA ____________________________________________________
