Here's a summary of the situation: I am co-owner on 2 lists, ballroom and ballrm-m, on mitvma.mit.edu. The latter (ballrm-m), I've List-ID'ed to ballroom-m for slightly better descriptiveness in the name (and set List-Address= List-ID). Ballroom is active (300+), while ballrm-m/ballroom-m just contains 2 of the listowners while we're setting it up (eventually, it will be a moderated version of ballroom). This List-ID stuff was all done 2 days ago, so plenty of time to mature. Anyway, here's the weird part. 1. I sent a test message to ballroom-m and it gets distributed to the _ballroom_ list (all headers, etc. look just like the ballroom list). It were just as if I put List-ID= ballroom-m/ List-Address= Listname in the _ballroom_ list instead of ballrm-m, but I didn't! Ballroom has no List-ID! 2. To check, I did a "get ballroom (nol" and "get ballroom-m (nol" Sure enough, I got the ballroom list both times (incorrectly, it appears to me). 3. Then I did a "review ballroom-m" and this time I *do* get the ballrm-m list! What's going on? Why does "review" do the right thing and "get" and mail distribution the wrong thing? If there's a restriction on "get" that it must refer to the actual list name--fine (is this true?). But clearly the mail distribution should work properly. I'm attaching headers of both lists below, and my test message too. You can see that the message started out to ballroom-m@... and ended up at ballroom@... Thanks for any help you can offer.
