The advertising issue is only one concern. Did anyone skim through the subscription form? At the bottom of this form is a space requesting the applicant's mother's maiden name. Under this space is an alleged explanation that Syllabus Press must have this information for further subscription verification, and the declaration that Syllabus Press will not process applications which exclude this information. Since when must a publisher have an applicant's mother's maiden name to process a subscription application? Perhaps Brian from Canada might wish to file a complaint concerning questionable business practices with the appropriate agency.
