I've been gone for two weeks and am just catching up. Need to do a db search on this to see what has been said. Besides what I've seen from Murph and Judith (she sent them to me) if Canada were to unilaterally enact such a law my immediate response would be to delete all subscribers in Canada (even though the Canadians who might wish to prosecute if they didn't like something on the list probably haven't a prayer of getting at me). If it were to become a widespread policy, regardless of wehether the list is moderated or not, there would be a very great temptation to say "To hell with it, I don't need this, so what if it's a major professional information resource with thousands of direct subscribers and countless gateway readers. If Canada, or any other government, is going to hold me personally responsible for everything posted on the list, the majority of which is distributed automatically without being seen by me or anyone else, then it's bye - bye list."
