This is subject to correction by those more knowledgeable, but, if your subscribers want to switch from DIGEST to MAIL (individual messages) they send set corgi-l mail . If they have digest already set and want to suspend list mail for a little while they can send either a set nodigest or a set nomail, doesn't matter which they use. But, when they return, if they want to resume digests, they must send a set digest. If they used set nomail and think set mail will cause the digests to resume they'll be surprised; they'll get the list mail but not the way they want it. Nodigest stops delivery of mail, like nomail does. To change the format of the delivery it must be done explictly (and someone who had digests but set the sub nodigest and then sets it mail, thinking the digests will resume, is making an explicit delivery format change, and will not get the digests).
