Quick answer, you can't, that I know of, with either Pine or Elm. The message is simply resent, as is, to the address you specify, you can't modify it nor is any record, that you can get to, kept about the bounce. > > > Is there an easy way to edit the bounces? Or a setting in Pine > I don't know about that would let the Forward option generate > resent lines? I haven't edited my .pinerc file in a while so I don't really know, but I don't think so. One thing you could try would be to use Elm forward and then manually edit the header. Never tried it but might work. Of course, that's going to be a lot of work, you'll have to do it for each item. When I need to add a comment I just say to heck with it, use forward, add comments and remind everyone it isn't really from me (unless I decide to "bounce" it to our error account at UBVM so I can add comments and preserve the From: , which I rarely do). Just a suggestion, but have you thought of going to semi-moderated rather than full moderation? We've got over 3,000 subs and moderately heavy traffic and have had no real problems, other than spams, in over five years, even through AMERICAN.EDU (except the spams, of course). You, of course, know your list best and what is needed. Good luck on whatever course you take. Douglas Douglas Winship Hays County, Texas [log in to unmask] Secondary AUTOCAT Listowner MEDLAB-L
