I just got off the phone with an administrator who has had three AOL acco= unts added to lists on her system -- apparently using faked mail. America Online screen names (the equivalent of userids) can contain space= s on the AOL system -- for example, "Joe User" would be a valid AOL screen nam= e. Spaces in screen names are removed to form the user's Internet address --= so "Joe User" would become [log in to unmask] (names are case insensitive). The addresses added to the lists mentioned above *included* spaces -- whi= ch were rendered as "=FF" (y-umlaut) in the mail sent to me. If you see any such subscriptions or subscription attempts, please send m= e e-mail with the username of the person(s) affected. If you can trap the original subscription message headers, it would help as well. You will mo= st likely want to delete the subscriptions as well. -- __ David B.
