[...] Here's how I handle it: I handle two listserv lists, Y-RIGHTS and MINISTRY. I only have one account. I usually read e-mail/news offline. 1) I have my mailbox online sort by subject. When I am online and have a few minutes, I delete the error messages, except for the last of each group, which usually is the most recent and can tell me the error that occured. It is easy to delete a bunch because they are all in a row. I think I use ELM. 2) Offline. This is where I spend most of my time. I use YARN for MS-DOS, offline e-mail/news reader for DOS and OS/2 (SOUP packets). I set up a filter to look at the From: line for the word LISTSERV, and dump it into a pseudo-newsgroup called list.listserv. Then I can look through the error messages and other LISTSERV messages at my leisure, and issue DEL listname -a-user-who-does-not-exist-, SET listname DIGEST FOR -some-address-with-filled-up-mailbox-, SET listname NOMAIL FOR -some-person-on-vacation-, SET listname REPRO FOR -someone-who-wants-to-see-their-messages-, etc. It works out pretty well. So the key for me is: 1) SORTING ONLINE MAILBOX BY SUBJECT 2) FILTERING TO FOLDER/PSEUDO-NEWSGROUP EVERYTHING FROM LISTSERV That makes list management a more joyful experience :-) Ken [log in to unmask] current owner of the Children's Rights List <[log in to unmask]> current owner of the Minister's Discussion List <[log in to unmask]>
