Bill, Thanks for your help. Okay, I got the filelist (it didn't give it to me with the "(CTL," but when I sent the get command without "(CTL" it sent the filelist to me). Anyway, when I got the filelist it had a bunch of junk in front of it. Since I'm sending the commands and the filelist through e-mail (Eudora) I'm not sure how much of this "junk to include or exclude or where I should add the "GATSBY-L WELCOME ALL OWN" command. What should I do next? (I'm sending this back through the listowner's list because other people may have experienced this same problem.) This is what I got: >* GATSBY-L FILELIST for [log in to unmask] >* >* Archives for list GATSBY-L (Short stories, poetry, and drama.) >* >* ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: >* >* The GET/PUT authorization codes shown with each file entry describe >* who is authorized to GET or PUT the file: >* >* OWN = List owners >* PRV = Private, ie list members >* >* ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: > >* >* NOTEBOOK archives for the list >* (Weekly notebook) >* rec last - change >* filename filetype GET PUT -fm lrecl nrecs date time Remarks >* -------- -------- --- --- --- ----- ----- -------- -------- ---------------- >--------------- > GATSBY-L LOG9509B PRV OWN V 80 213 95/09/12 21:51:54 Started on Sun, >10 Sep 1995 17:06:33 -0500 etc., etc., Thanks, Larry ********************************* Lawrence J.
