Following up on Stan's note, if you decide not to re-PUT the filelist for some reason, you should issue an UNLOCK listname FILELIST command to LISTSERV. Otherwise, the next time you try to GET listname FILELIST (CTL you'll get a "listname FILELIST has been locked since timex by usery" message. This goes for list headers also. If you GET your list header and decide you didn't really want to make changes, send an UNLOCK listname to LISTSERV. Note that you <can> use the (NOLOCK modifier to avoid locking the filelist/header, e.g., GET listname FILELIST (CTL NOLOCK GET listname (HEADER NOLOCK But I don't recommend this unless you are the only person who has list owner or filelist privileges.
