Thanks to everyone who replied to my post about my subscriber(Marc Y.) who received a flood of archived messages. As a follow-up, here is the apparent explanation.I have deleted the name of the person who wrote Marc. Cheers, Pat ====================== Pat - you might be interested in the following msg I just received. It explains where the old messages came from. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Wed, 28 Feb 1996 16:21:26 -0500 (EST) From:<[log in to unmask]> To: marc yergin <[log in to unmask]> Subject: Flood of Archived Messages A few days ago you asked about a flood of old messages that suddenly appeared in your mailbox. You only got 180; I got 633! Here's what happened .... The mail system at Telerama was configured to use a backup mail server at Duquesne U. when the main server at Telerama was overloaded. Unfortunately, messages that went to the backup server starting in mid-November weren't being sent to Telerama. Someone either at Telerama or Duquesne did something that caused the backup server to start working through it's queue of old messages. XXXX Pittsburgh, PA
