ROADMAP96 is in full progess. Some of the topics are LISTSERV-specific and might be useful to you or someone you know ... ------------ Date: Thu, 15 Aug 1996 14:44:58 -0700 Sender: "ROADMAP Workshop August 7,1996" <[log in to unmask]> From: Patrick Douglas Crispen <[log in to unmask]> Subject: ROADMAP TRAFFIC REPORT (WEEK 2) To: Multiple recipients of list MAP5 <[log in to unmask]> ROADMAP TRAFFIC REPORT It is Friday. Do you know where your Roadmap96 lessons are? As promised, here is a list of every Roadmap96 lesson that I have sent out so far. For now, just pay attention to the first and third columns on this list (the "filename" and "description" columns). I'll explain that middle column ("filetype") in a minute. WEEK 1 filename filetype description ------ ------- ----------- MAP01 FILE WELCOME MAP02 FILE LISTSERV FILE SERVER COMMANDS WEEK 2 filename filetype description ------ ------- ----------- MAP03 FILE LEVELS OF INTERNET CONNECTIVITY MAP04 FILE E-MAIL MAP05 FILE LISTSERVS MAP06 FILE OTHER MAIL SERVERS MAP07 FILE NETIQUETTE What should you do if you are missing one of the lessons listed above? Just send an e-mail letter to [log in to unmask] with the command GET filename filetype F=MAIL in the body of your e-mail letter, replacing "filename" and "filetype" with the filename and the filetype of the lesson that you are missing. The "filename" for each lesson can be found in the first column of the list above, and the "filetype" can be found in the second column. So if you are missing MAP07, just send an e-mail letter to [log in to unmask] with the command GET MAP07 FILE F=MAIL in the body of your e-mail letter. The LISTSERV file server at the InterNIC will read your letter and reply by sending you the lesson that you requested. It is that simple! :) By the way, I haven't sent these out yet, but here are the lessons that we will be looking at in the weeks to come: WEEK3 lesson description ------ ----------- MAP08 USENET MAP09 SPAMMING AND URBAN LEGENDS MAP10 INTERNET SECURITY MAP11 TELNET (PART ONE) MAP12 TELNET (PART TWO) WEEK4 lesson description ------ ----------- MAP13 FTP (PART ONE) MAP14 FTP (PART TWO) MAP15 FTPMAIL MAP16 FTP FILE COMPRESSION MAP17 ARCHIE MAP17B FTP SITES WEEK5 lesson description ------ ----------- MAP18 GOPHER (PART ONE) MAP19 GOPHER (PART TWO) MAP20 BOOKMARKS AND BOOKLISTS MAP21 VERONICA MAP22 GOPHERMAIL WEEK6 lesson description ------ ----------- MAP23 WWW (PART ONE) MAP24 WWW (PART TWO) MAP25 ADDRESS SEARCHES AND FINGER NEAT MAP-EXTRA: NEAT STUFF TO CHECK OUT ADVERT ADVERTISING ON THE INTERNET MAP26 IRC/MUDs/MOOs AND OTHER "TALKERS" SMITH GUEST LECTURER -- RICHARD SMITH MAP27 THE FUTURE ...
