For the past year I have been using the approval process for new subcribers as a technique to reduce the intial commands (signoff, get, etc) sent to a List by the inexperienced. In the last two months I have received this message from about three susbcribers. In fact this one user has encountered the same problem twice. Does anyone has any experienced with this problem? ---- Michael Jones ([log in to unmask]) Orlando, FL USA One of the Celiac & Cel-Kids Listowners ============== Error report Date: Fri, 25 Oct 1996 03:49:37 -0400 From: "L-Soft list server at St. John's University (1.8b)" <[log in to unmask]> Subject: Rejected posting to [log in to unmask] To: [log in to unmask] Status: The approval request code received together with your posting for the CELIAC list is incorrect. For a peered list, this may be a normal condition. The approval protocol is not guaranteed to work among peer chains with pre-1.8b servers, and will also fail if the peers have a different password. For a non-peered list, the only likely explanation is a failure in the mail system, or a recent change in mail system version or configuration. At any rate, please resubmit your message and go through the approval procedure a second time, and contact the LISTSERV administrator if the problem persists. ------------------------ Rejected message (52 lines) -------------------------- Return-Path: <[log in to unmask]> Received: from SJUVM.STJOHNS.EDU (NJE origin LISTSERV@SJUVM) by SJUVM.STJOHNS.EDU (LMail V1.2a/1.8a) with BSMTP id 6968; Fri, 25 Oct 1996 01:37:12 -0400 X-LSVAPCKS: CC7222D2 Approved-By: [log in to unmask] Return-Path: <[log in to unmask]> Received: from SJUVM (NJE origin SMTP@SJUVM) by SJUVM.STJOHNS.EDU (LMail V1.2a/1.8a) with BSMTP id 6485; Thu, 24 Oct 1996 13:32:22 -0400 Received: from antares.cloudnet.com by SJUVM.stjohns.edu (IBM VM SMTP V2R3) with TCP; Thu, 24 Oct 96 13:32:21 EDT Received: (qmail-queue invoked from smtpd); 24 Oct 1996 17:39:36 -0000 Received: from pm225.cloudnet.com (HELO ?199.199.220.225?)
