In addition to Ben's advice, the skills that you learn using LISTSERV brand mailing list manager generates e-mail, but does so generally more efficiently (in terms of distribution of it) than simply posting by an individual to a private list of recipients. It has the capability of moderating posts from the recipients back to the list (though that might not be needed right now).
