I used to have trouble keeping track of my list subscriptions, until I started filing all sub, unsub, and set-option mail in a single folder. Previously, some of that stuff was co-mingled with mail to/from the specific list, some of it was in my "catch-all" file, and some of it undoubtedly landed in the bit bucket.
