I hope not! 1. That should be @AOL.COM 2. The "JoeSchmoe" should not be changed -- check that again. Usernames are allowed to be case-sensitive, and if that's changed it might not work. However, everything to the right of the "@" is case-insensitive, and I think LISTSERV makes them upper-case just for ease in sorting for distribution.
