Yes: set the subscriber to NOPOST:

SET listname NOPOST for [log in to unmask]

An ounce of the subscriber's edit time, is worth a pound of the
recipients', networks, mail servers time dealing with excess quoting.

OK, I did not really answer your question.  You could probably turn off the
checking feature, but at your and your subscribers' peril, especially if a
loop  got started.
