You solution could be simple or beautifully complex. QUIET ADD suppresses the the template and any possible WELCOME file. Then you can simply email your "special" subscribers an attachment. Of course the mail would originate FROM: you instead of listname-REQUEST. /Pete At 17:46 5/6/98 -0400, John Kelly said: >>>> I would like to send a welcome message to all the new subscribers of the list I maintain, without sending the standard blurb... Since my list is not open to subscription and I add all the names myself, I added the users "quiet add.." I would now like to send certain people on the list a welcome message that was drafted specifically for this list. I don't want to screw up the default.mailtpl file, so should I make a listname.mailtpl file? and if so where do I add the text for the welcome message? and how do I send that file to people I want to receive it?\ <<<< -- mailto:[log in to unmask] Tel: +1 814 863 1843 31 Shields Bldg; University Park, PA 16802-1202 USA Powered by: LISTSERV, Eudora, Netscape, mIRC, FreeAgent "Are you Y2K compliant?"
