and two more to Pete's list of whynots.. some systems still charge by the byte .. so
recievers have to pay cold hard cash for all that extra

some providers limit space.. so a 1 meg email [like was sent with an attatchment
through a fellow listserv listowner's list recently] can really clog up a subscriber's
system big time.
