Struggling to get linux set up at home. Want to be able to use the Pine bounce feature to direct non-subscribed messages to LISTSERV, but LISTSERV is not seeing my correct address. I'm getting mail by my ISP's POP with fetchmail, sending to the ISP's SMTP server. My linux box insisted on marking my mail as [log in to unmask], even when mail was sent from an account named after my correct e-mail user address, "holloway". After far too long a time, I've figured out that I could add a feature to the .pinerc that would add whatever From header I wanted. The headers of my messages now have the correct address, [log in to unmask], but LISTSERV is still seeing [log in to unmask] when I try to bounce a message. It must be using something I can't read in the envelope. This seems to leave me with the task of hacking sendmail to let me masquerade, but will this send LISTSERV the address I want? Alternatively, I suppose, I could just add [log in to unmask] as an owner, but this strikes me as inelegant. Can anyone offer advice? Thanks, Mike Holloway [log in to unmask]
