Yes, Listserv did create the directory and it populated the /images directory with all of the new icons for 1.8d. Prior to running " make update" that directory did not exist. The problem is that the web pages have no icons because a url request for a list web archive goes across to another disk partition and looks under the campus web server for an archives/images directory that doesn't exist, rather than going to look for them in the /images directory it created under Listserv's archives directory during the make update. Yes, I just compared the current default.wwwtpl with the one in the backup directory and it was indeed updated. Maybe an anomaly, but there appear to be two default.wwwtpl files, both identical, one in /home and one in the archive directory, but only the one in the archive directory has a current timestamp beyond the "make update". Again, they are identical. Well, I just thought of something as I write this. Maybe our webmaster here defined an "archives" directory aliase in the servers config files and maybe Listserv is following it. I'll go take a peek as that is the only thing I can think of. Thanks for your input and indeed for the time you spent checking. --trish
