We have a large archive searchable via the web. Unfortunately searches take
an excessive amount of time and occasionally time out. Is there a way to
tune the performance of the archive search.

I noticed that when searching the LSTOWN-L archive results are returned 50
at a time with an indicator that more are available. It does not seem to
count all possible matches. When I search mine it returns the total amount
possible.  For example:

Search results – LSTOWN-L
50 matches (more available).
<50 displayed>

Search results - OURS
454 matches (only the first 50 will be shown).
<50 displayed>

Is the what causes slow archive performance. If so how do I stop the total
count?.
We are running 1.8d beta on a windows NT system.

Thanks,
John
