I've encountered a problem where sendmail will, for no apparent
reason, stop recognizing aliases, and bounce mail to a list as if the
alias for it did not exist. Restarting sendmail doesn't fix the
problem, but running newaliases then using "kill -HUP" for sendmail
does fix it. We're running sendmail 8.9.3 under Solaris 2.8, and
have roughly 4,000 aliases defined.
Has anyone else seen this or have any suggestions? I create new
lists using "make list", and check the output carefully to be sure
there was no problem with newaliases and "kill -HUP" for sendmail. I
haven't noticed any relation between when I create new lists and when
the problem occurs.
