We are using 1.8e in Solaris 7. It just happened few days ago when all
the posts to a list got queued in ~spool. I viewed a particular queued
with jobview and see the header:
<HDR1>1 M ECON-FACULTY $NOJOB$ *MAILER* INCOMING MAIL
<HDR2>

The log showed:

the user received:
The distribution of your message dated Sat, 07 Feb 2004 16:45:31 -0600
with subject "Kudos to Sean P. Klein, one of our Undergraduate Econ
Majors!" has been postponed because the ECON-FACULTY list is held. No
action is required from you; your message will be reprocessed
automatically once the list owner releases the list.
The sender is the Editor of the list (list attribute is send=editor, hold).
It just happened right after the log:
4 Feb 2004 13:22:37 >>> Error X'00000011' opening file
/u/ssc/listserv/lists/econ-faculty.log0402a <<<
I tried to delete that file and all econ-faculty.db* (and did a search so
db* would be re-created), renamed the *.jobh to *.job and started the
ListServ. But it was no use, the *.job was renamed to *.jobh and the user
still got a 'notice' mail. I even tried to delete the whole list (I moved
all notebook to another directory), re-created the new one and tried to
send a fresh post to the newly created lists (same name) but still failed
miserably. The list has been working well until last week. Would anyone
help - I just want to get the post out no matter what..... Thanks for
your help.
