I've use the ACK command sometimes to let people know their post went through. In some email delivery issues though getting a copy is the only way to tell if the mailing worked.

As discussed within the last couple of years, some mail systems like GMAIL will not display the
received message from the poster him/herself.

Thus, either post from another email address or have them switch to ACK which will let them know that
the posting was processed by the LISTSERV host.
