I don't know yet if it is only my LISTSERV or a 1.7D problem but
we have apparently generated hundreds (maybe thousands) mail items from
LISTSERV due to a syntax error in a Database search job.
LISTSERV symptoms: unheld old files in the LISTSERV reader.
Messages about "Missing argument on DD card" (for example) repeated in
the LISTSERV console log ever few minutes as shown below. SMTP or
MAILER logs will show repeated mail items to the same addresses.
Circumvention: If you find such mail or files in the LISTSERV
reader get rid of them - have LISTSERV transfer them to you or
purge them.
I sent a note to Eric but haven't heard from him yet. I suspect
the problem is a missing purge of the reader file in the error
routine. If I find anything that works I'll post a note on the list.
